Evan Addams is 18 years old and a recent high school graduate. Evan is an alumni of the Artists-In-Training Program with the Opera Theatre of St. Louis and the St. Louis Children’s choirs, and was a finalist in the 2017 Fox Teen Talent Competition. Some of her favorite roles include Elle Woods in Legally Blonde Jr. and Sarah in Ragtime.

Q: What was your first theatre experience?
A: My first theatre experiences were with my aunt, Raphealle Darden, who writes fully staged plays for our church. She wrote a show that parodied “The wizard of oz” and cast me-five years old at the time- as a the munchkin spoof, a “gigglee” , I sang “you are my sunshine” in candy print pajamas.

Q: What’s the best career advice you’ve ever gotten?
A: The best career advice I’ve ever received was from a guest teacher in a residency. He said “never make the same mistake twice”. Show them your attention to detail and focus on your growth.

Q: Tell us about a backstage or onstage mishap you lived through.
A: Oooh a mishap… I played Elle Woods in Ignite theatre Company’s production of Legally Blonde jr, it was only my second community theatre show and my very first lead. I was so stressed and overwhelmed, and HOT, I blacked out on stage. Luckily it was my bow so the show was already finished

Q: What is your dream role/show?
A: My dream role has been Sarah from Ragtime since I saw it a couple years ago. I got to play the role with STD!

Q: What is your current guilty TV Pleasure?
A: My guilty pleasure has always been dance moms. I hate reality tv and I know the show is pretty ridiculous at times but I love it!

Thanks Evan- hope to see much more of you on the STL stage!!
