Happy Friday from The Scene Shop! Today we’re hearing from Jordan Zeitler!
Jordan Zeitler is a US Air Force Vet and a devoted theater nerd. He is the Executive Producer of Open House Theater in New Athens, IL. He is also a published author of a collection of poetry titled I Have Something To Say. He most recently played the Beast in Disney’s Beauty and the Beast and is looking forward to starring in Judge Jackie Justice in the fall. He is also the editor of Limelight, a publication that is going to be joining The Scene Shop as a sister magazine focusing on community and educational theatre.
Q: What was your first experience in theatre?
A: Playing Detective Marlo in The Butler Did It Singing.
Q: What is the best piece of career advice anyone has ever given you?
A: Do what you love for as long as you can. To reach your 80s you have to have a full and happy life.
Q: Tell us about a backstage or onstage mishap you lived through.
A: In my first production with Open House Theater, in the first scene, I ran off stage and my shoulder caught a screw sticking out of the wall and ripped my back wide open. Like a pro, I taped it up and continued with the performance.
Q: What is your dream role/show?
A: Tom Collins in Rent. I was lucky enough to fill one dream role as Seymour in Little Shop of Horrors a few years ago.
