R-S Theatrics presents Love? Actually…

We at The Scene Shop want to wish the cast and crew of Love? Actually… a happy opening night! Love? Actually… is a musical triptych about unrequited love.

Act One is entitled Out of a Bowl. Each performer in the cast has prepared a solo piece, is part of a duet, and is part of two full group numbers, all songs involving semi-requited love. Four audience members each night will pull a random song choice from out of a bowl that contains every possible solo, duet, and group number.

Act Two is Steven Serpa’s one-act opera Thyrsis and Amaranth. A modern telling of a French fable, R-S Theatrics’ first opera examines what happens when a young woman decides to finally reveal to a childhood friend her passionate love for her. R-S Theatrics is thrilled to welcome Steven Serpa for the opening weekend of the production.
Finally, Act Three will be 21 Chump Street, also written by Lin-Manuel Miranda. Based on actual events covered in the radio program This American Life, the one-act musical follows a high school student named Justin as he falls for the new girl in class, unaware that she is actually an undercover cop on assignment.
Love? Actually… is directed by Christina Rios, musical directed by Leah Luciano, and includes Sarajane Alverson, Kevin Corpuz, Eileen Engel, Lindsay Gingrich, Omega Jones, Phil Leveling, Natasha Toro, Kelvin Urday.
