“Company” Opens the Curtain on Insight’s Ninth Season

St. Louis, MO/June 23, 2016 – Insight Theater Company has been providing award-winning productions to theater aficionados in the St. Louis region since 2008, and the 2016 season is poised to be the best one yet.

Insight Company

“We are so proud of our selections for our ninth season, which features outstanding performances, lively and moving stories, and stunning entertainment,” says Insight’s Artistic Director Maggie Ryan.  “The 2016 season offers lots of laughter, wonderful music and some moving drama. Most of all, it offers audiences high quality productions and a bundle of INSIGHTS!”

The current season kicked off on June 17 with Sondheim’s Tony Award-winning Company, which runs through July 3.

“…a smart, surprisingly moving production – — in large part because Martin Fox, as Bobby, gives an apparently shallow character hints of unsuspected depths.” – Judith Newmark, Post-Dispatch

“It’s a musical masterpiece given a sparkling interpretation by Insight Theatre.” – Mark Bretz, Ladue News

“[Company] gets the luxe treatment in an Insight Theatre staging, where dazzling songs are supported by a great cast and surprisingly great production values.” – Richard Green, TalkinBroadway.com

“… the cast…is excellent…Laurie McConnell brings down the house with her primal performance of “The Ladies Who Lunch”…” – Paul Friswold, RFT

The rest of their 2016 season includes:

John and Jen –  This musical, which debuted off-Broadway in 1995, deals with the intricacies of sibling relationships, loss and the possibility of redemption. Directed by Trish Brown, Musical Director Larry Pry.  Starring Spencer Davis Milford and Jenni Ryan. July 15 through July 31.

Inherit The Wind – On the surface a dramatization of the Scopes “Monkey Trial” of 1925, this drama serves as a thinly veiled critique of the McCarthy trials of the 1950’s. The debate over creationism versus evolution still exists today and will spark conversation and insight into the topic. Directed by Sydnie Grosberg Ronga. Starring John Contini, Alan Knoll and Susie Wall. August 12 through August 28.

Insight’s productions are presented at Heagney Theatre at Nerinx Hall, 530 East Lockwood Ave. in Webster Groves.
